Special Statement
It was time-consuming, stressful, and expensive to get our Farm Operating and Baking Permit in 2019/2020. On July 1, 2021, the Homemade Food Act (Act) became effective, which allows us to prepare low risk food items in our Wild West Berry Farm Kitchen without a special permit.
As for labeling requirements, the Act gives 4 options; we chose option 4 – on the webpage where the items are offered for sale.
“This product is home produced and is exempt from state licensing and inspection. This product may contain allergens”
On this webpage, our name, address, phone number, and email are listed; as well as the food items for sale by name and all of their ingredients; from most to least present in the item with common allergens written in bold letters.
We regularly bake with wheat flour, rye flour, butter, milk, cream, buttermilk, eggs, Pecans, Hazelnuts, Coconuts and Almonds. Please read the list of ingredients carefully before ordering, since you may suffer from less common food allergens.
